WATER OUTAGE:  Thursday, March 21, 9 AM - 6 PM. 

• Dear SSCC Member,

  • Please read this important message. During a reservoir cleaning, SSCC water service will be disrupted - WE WILL  HAVE NO WATER.  There are guidelines to follow from KING WATER below.

  • A scheduled water outage for the purpose of cleaning the SSCC water reservoir is scheduled for March 21st from 9 am to 6 pm.

  • Prepare: Please fill containers or bathtubs so that you will have sufficient water available during this time. (you can use water normally until Thursday morning at 9 am. From 9-6 please do not use water)

  • You need to be aware of the following in order to protect our community water system and yourselves, during this time.

  • Do not use water from your tap during the day - if you do use water during the cleaning, the main lines will run dry, this could cause damage to a water heater or other equipment you may have in your house. 

  • If any of the mains run dry it will stir up any sediment that may be in the lines - this will cause a severe dirty water problem.

  • Once the reservoir has been refilled, there are several things you should do:

    • There will probably be some sediment in the lines - before using any water in your home, turn on an outside faucet and allow it to run for several minutes or until the water cleans up.

    • King water will disinfect the reservoir with chlorine. Check that you do not smell any string odors of chlorine in the water; some minor smell may still linger and is nothing to worry about. It should fully clear up within the day.
